Exclusive: Saudi clubs target €160m swoop for two Liverpool stars – Reds’ position disclosed
Liverpool are attracting strong interest from Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal, who are plotting moves for two of the club’s high-profile stars ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to sources close to the situation, Al Hilal are targeting both Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz. Liverpool are open to parting ways with Nunez and have set a price tag of around €80 million, as they plan to bring in a new striker to replace the struggling Uruguayan.
Although incoming manager Arne Slot is keen to keep Diaz, it’s understood that Liverpool would consider selling him if an offer in the region of €80 million arrives.
Nunez exit increasingly likely
Nunez appears likely to leave Anfield after failing to impress since his arrival, with reduced minutes under Slot compared to former boss Jurgen Klopp. The striker has attracted attention not only from Al Hilal but also from Newcastle United and Atletico Madrid. Still, Liverpool may need to lower their asking price to spark serious talks with interested European clubs.
Diaz situation more delicate
In contrast, Diaz’s future is less clear-cut. The Colombian winger remains a valuable asset, capable of delivering at the top level. Previous interest from Barcelona and PSG never progressed, but Al Hilal are now ready to test Liverpool’s resolve with a significant bid. Should a deal go through, Liverpool would be expected to line up a high-calibre replacement.
