“People won’t stop mentioning it – even Liverpool star’s own family are asking if he’s staying at Anfield.”
Endo Makes Clear He’s Staying at Liverpool Despite Exit Talk
One Liverpool player has made it crystal clear he’s fully committed to the club, despite growing speculation about his future—even his family and teammates have asked him what his next move will be.
Wataru Endo has been the subject of recent transfer rumours, particularly with interest from Eintracht Frankfurt. Having started just once during Liverpool’s title-winning Premier League campaign, it wouldn’t be surprising if the 32-year-old were considering a move to get more playing time. But Endo has no plans to leave Anfield.
Endo: “Liverpool Is Worth It”
Speaking to Japanese outlet ABEMA, Endo was asked whether he’d prefer to remain a squad player at Liverpool rather than play more often elsewhere. He responded:
> “Yeah, I think so. Liverpool is a club worth staying for. If I get chances to play here, I won’t throw them away just to go somewhere else. I want to give my all and help Liverpool win more titles—that’s what makes my career meaningful.”
He also shared that speculation about his future hasn’t just come from the media:
> “People keep asking. I’ve had messages from friends, even my family is like, ‘So, what are you going to do?’ Other players have asked too, especially in the second half of the season. I just tell them, ‘As far as I’m concerned, I’m staying.’”
A Model Professional at Anfield
Endo may not have made headlines when he signed from Stuttgart two years ago, but he’s become a fan favourite for his professionalism and attitude. Throughout the 2024/25 season, he often came off the bench to help Liverpool secure tight wins, using his experience to manage games in crucial moments.
Much like James Milner in his later years at the club, Endo is seen as a calm, reliable leader—valued more for his influence and dependability than his starting appearances. His understanding of what it means to represent Liverpool shines through in everything he does.
With Liverpool aiming to retain their Premier League crown, there’s no doubt Endo will remain a key presence in the dressing room and an asset on the pitch next season.
