Liverpool is targeting a £100 million signing as they continue their pursuit of Alexander Isak, while facing stiff competition from Manchester City and Real Madrid in the transfer market.
Liverpool remains active in the transfer market and is reportedly eyeing another Premier League star while continuing their pursuit of Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.
Isak, 25, has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield throughout the summer. Earlier this month, Liverpool made a £110 million offer with add-ons, but Newcastle turned it down. The Swedish striker hasn’t featured for Newcastle since the final game of the 2024/25 season and has recently voiced frustration over what he describes as “broken promises” from the club.
Despite Isak’s apparent wish to leave, Newcastle are unwilling to sanction a move until they’ve secured two attacking reinforcements. The Magpies are targeting Brentford’s Yoane Wissa and Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade and have reportedly agreed to a deal worth £64.86 million (€75 million) plus £4.3 million (€5 million) in add-ons for Woltemade.
Meanwhile, Liverpool’s summer business may not be over. After already bringing in nine new signings—including Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, and Jeremie Frimpong—Liverpool, along with Manchester City and Real Madrid, are said to be monitoring Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton, according to Caught Offside.
