“The player is prepared to join Real Madrid if Liverpool choose not to secure his signing.”

Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi has been the subject of transfer speculation in recent weeks.

He was close to joining Liverpool on deadline day, but the move collapsed after Palace failed to secure a replacement. According to Defensa Central, the 25-year-old is now prepared to join Real Madrid if a transfer to Liverpool doesn’t materialize.

Liverpool could reignite interest in January

The Reds are reportedly planning to make another move for Guehi when the January transfer window opens. With his contract set to expire next summer, Palace may be willing to let him go for a reduced fee in January.

However, Liverpool’s pursuit may hinge on whether Ibrahima Konaté agrees to a contract extension. If he does, the club may walk away from a deal for Guehi — in which case, the defender would favor a move to Real Madrid. He has reportedly told those close to him that the Spanish giants are his second-choice destination after Liverpool.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, are looking to add depth and quality to their backline, and Guehi could be a smart signing — particularly if they can secure a pre-contract agreement in January and bring him in for free next summer.

Recognized as one of the Premier League’s top defenders, Guehi has the ability to thrive in La Liga and could prove to be a valuable addition for the Madrid side.
