The 25-year-old played a pivotal role in Arne Slot’s title-winning side last season, scoring eight goals, and has already contributed five goals and four assists across all competitions this term. According to FotMob, he is Liverpool’s second-best player this season, with a rating of 7.32.
Given his quality, it’s easy to understand why clubs like Real Madrid and Bayern showed interest, but letting him leave would have been a huge blow for Liverpool. While the club has previously sold stars like Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho, fans will hope this marks a shift toward retaining top talent and maintaining a competitive squad.
