A £100m transfer showdown is brewing as Liverpool and Manchester United go head-to-head for a Premier League star.

Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Micky van de Ven has been the subject of growing transfer speculation in recent months, but Spurs are keen to secure his future.

Liverpool, in particular, could be in the market for a new centre-back. With Ibrahima Konaté set to become a free agent at the end of the season and no contract extension agreed, the Reds may need a replacement. Van de Ven’s proven Premier League quality, pace, and suitability for a high defensive line make him an appealing option. The chance to play for one of the world’s biggest clubs alongside fellow Dutchman Virgil van Dijk could also tempt the Spurs defender.

Manchester United are also eager to strengthen their defence as they aim to challenge for major honours in the coming years, and a player of Van de Ven’s profile would fit their ambitions.
