Following Liverpool’s 3-2 win over Southampton on Sunday, in which Salah scored twice, the forward made a rare move by speaking to the press in the mixed zone. He revealed that he had yet to receive any contract offer from Liverpool and admitted that his future with the club seemed uncertain.

“We are almost in December, and I haven’t received any offers yet to stay at the club,” Salah said. “I’m probably more out than in. You know I have been in the club for many years. There is no club like this. But in the end, it is not in my hands. As I said, it is December, and I haven’t received anything yet about my future.”

On Monday Night Football, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher expressed disappointment with Salah’s decision to address his contract situation so openly, particularly after his decisive performance. Carragher emphasized his hope that both sides could reach an agreement on a new deal, given Salah’s importance to the team.

In contrast, Arsenal legend Ian Wright praised Salah’s honesty during The Kelly and Wrighty Show, arguing that the player was right to publicly highlight the issue. “I love the way Mo came out with what he’s saying—put it out there, let the fans see what’s going on, don’t let the club hide in the shadows,” Wright remarked. He added that Salah’s fitness, professionalism, and impact make him a rare exception, deserving of a long-term deal even at the age of 30.
