Real Madrid is eyeing a Super Eagles star who has recorded 27 goals and assists in 2024, as Vinicius Jr approaches a potential world-record transfer to Al-Hilal.

Real Madrid may soon see the departure of star forward Vinicius Junior, as Al-Hilal is reportedly preparing to make a record-breaking €300 million offer for the Brazilian, according to Soccernet.ng.

If this transfer goes through, it would surpass Neymar’s €222 million move to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, which remains the most expensive transfer in history.

Spanish outlet Fichajes, via El Futbolero, reports that the Saudi Pro League team views Vinicius as a key addition and a potential replacement for Neymar, who may leave Al-Hilal at the end of the season.

In anticipation of Vinicius’s possible exit, Real Madrid is considering Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman as a prime candidate to take his place. Lookman has been a standout performer for Atalanta in Serie A, contributing an impressive 27 goal involvements (16 goals and 11 assists) in all competitions this year, making him the league leader in this category.

His recent two-goal performance in Atalanta’s 3-0 win against league leaders Napoli further solidified his reputation, bringing his league contributions to six goals and four assists for the season.

At 27, Lookman’s dynamic style and consistent scoring make him a suitable option for Real Madrid’s attack. He was close to a transfer to PSG in the summer, as the French club saw him as the perfect replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who moved to Real Madrid. However, negotiations ultimately fell through.

Atalanta values Lookman at around €60 million (£50 million), a price that is feasible for Madrid, who could use a significant portion of the funds from Vinicius’s sale for this transfer. Besides Al-Hilal, Chelsea is also interested in Lookman.
