The striker has endured a challenging season, struggling for Premier League minutes despite excelling in European competitions. According to Football Insider, Nkunku is reportedly unhappy at Stamford Bridge. Speculation linking him to a move to Manchester United has surfaced, though manager Enzo Maresca dismissed claims that the 27-year-old could be sold ahead of the game.

Despite his challenges, Nkunku has scored 11 goals for Chelsea this season, including six in five Europa Conference matches. He added another in Germany on November 28, but his overall performance left some fans calling for his departure.

In the match, Nkunku missed a key chance in the first half after receiving a perfect through ball inside the box. Attempting a chip over Heidenheim goalkeeper Kevin Müller, his effort landed on the roof of the net, leaving Chelsea goalless at halftime.
