Arsenal have listed six first-team players for transfer in what is being described as Mikel Arteta’s most decisive move so far.

Arsenal may look to offload six players in the summer of 2025 as Mikel Arteta aims to streamline his squad. The 42-year-old manager endured a dip in form before the November international break but has since seen an upturn, with a dominant 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the Premier League and a 5-1 Champions League victory against Sporting Club.

Arteta has remained consistent with his preferred starting XI, but some players could face the exit door. Last summer, Arsenal spent £76m, securing David Raya, Riccardo Calafiori, and Mikel Merino on permanent deals, while adding Neto and Raheem Sterling on loan. The club also saw significant departures, with Emile Smith Rowe, Eddie Nketiah, Aaron Ramsdale, Mohamed Elneny, Cedric Soares, and Arthur Okonkwo leaving permanently. Reiss Nelson, Fabio Vieira, Sambi Lokonga, Nuno Tavares, and Karl Hein were loaned out.

This season, Arteta has often turned to youth, regularly including Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly in first-team squads, hinting at the club’s long-term vision. However, some experienced players have struggled for game time. Oleksandr Zinchenko has made only seven appearances, and Gabriel Jesus, who has scored just once in 16 matches, has fallen behind Kai Havertz in the pecking order.

According to The Athletic, both Zinchenko and Jesus could leave in 2025. Polish defender Jakub Kiwior may seek more consistent first-team opportunities elsewhere, while Lokonga and Nelson are also expected to depart permanently.
