Manchester United fans are in complete meltdown after the latest injury update, spelling trouble for Ruben Amorim.
Ruben Amorim will be without a key player for Manchester United’s clash with Arsenal on Wednesday evening.
The 39-year-old manager, aiming to secure his third win in four matches since taking over at Old Trafford, faces a significant challenge ahead of the Emirates showdown. United’s recent 4-0 victory over Everton, with standout performances from Amad, Marcus Rashford, and Joshua Zirkzee, has lifted spirits around the club. However, Amorim has been dealt a major blow with reports suggesting a senior player will miss the trip to North London.
According to talkSPORT, left-back Luke Shaw did not travel with the squad due to an “unspecified problem.” While he will be assessed, Leny Yoro has joined the travelling group. Shaw, 29, has struggled with injuries since Euro 2024, managing only three appearances this season, the latest as a substitute in Sunday’s win.
Fans have expressed their support for Shaw on social media, emphasizing the toll injuries have taken on his career. One fan wrote: “Luke Shaw being injured again is not about us or our disappointment anymore. It’s about him. He’s the victim here. We must support him as a human being.” Another commented: “At the end of the day, this is a man whose dream is being stolen from him by injuries.”
With Shaw unavailable, Amorim may need to reshuffle his defensive setup. Harry Maguire could feature as the left-sided centre-back in a back three, with Diogo Dalot—typically a right-back—deployed as the left wing-back, a role he filled against Everton and Ipswich. Other defensive options are limited, with Kobbie Mainoo and Lisandro Martinez suspended, and Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof sidelined through injury. Tyrell Malacia could also be an option on th
e left.
