Declan Rice shares a priceless reaction upon learning Liverpool dropped points after Arsenal’s win against Manchester United.
Declan Rice delivered a brilliant response after discovering Liverpool had dropped points against Newcastle United.
On Wednesday night, Rice played a key role in Arsenal’s midfield during their clash with Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium.
Goals from Jurrien Timber and William Saliba secured a vital 2-0 victory for Mikel Arteta’s side. Adding to the joy, Premier League leaders Liverpool were held to a dramatic 3-3 draw at St. James’ Park, thanks to Fabian Schar’s late equalizer for Newcastle.
Following the final whistle at the Emirates, Rice spoke to Amazon Prime Video, where he was informed of Liverpool’s result. The interviewer said: “The other bit of good news, Liverpool drew tonight, they dropped points so you’ve closed that gap, in that sense as well, must feel good.”
Rice responded: “Yeah, it’s good, but look, people get carried away with the title talk. I was involved in my first one last year. You just need to be in and around it by February; it’s too early to be calling what’s going on. It’s closed up, but there’s still a long way to go. We’ll keep believing in ourselves.”
With their victory over United, Arsenal remain third in the Premier League with 28 points, level with Chelsea but trailing on goal difference. Liverpool stay atop the table with 3
5 points.
