The resolution of Man City’s 115 charges takes a significant step forward following a major update.

According to The Daily Mail, Manchester City’s hearing with the Premier League over 115 alleged rule breaches has concluded. Closing arguments in the case, which could have significant implications for English football, were completed on Friday.

A three-person panel will now review the evidence and deliver a verdict in the coming months. The proceedings, held in secret, began on September 16 after a lengthy investigation into City, who have dominated the Premier League by winning four consecutive titles.

The Premier League has accused the club of numerous financial rule breaches and failing to cooperate with the subsequent investigation. The 115 charges mainly cover a nine-year period between 2009 and 2018, with City strongly denying all allegations.

If found guilty, the club could face severe penalties, including hefty fines, a points deduction, or even relegation. However, both sides are likely to appeal the decision, potentially delaying a final outcome until the end of next season.

In September, manager Pep Guardiola spoke out about the allegations, suggesting there was widespread hostility toward the club. “It feels like everyone wants us not just relegated, but erased from existence,” Guardiola said, defending the club and attributing their success to their performances rather than external factors.

This season, City have already lost four league matches and trail early leaders Liverpool by eight points.
