Reacting to the result on CBS Sports, Carragher dissected City’s struggles and questioned Guardiola’s ability to handle the situation, attributing it to his lack of experience in such challenging circumstances.

Carragher remarked, “This is a massive crisis. Guardiola, one of the greatest managers ever, has no answers right now. He’s tried various tactics and systems, but he’s struggling like never before. He’s never faced a situation like this, so he has nothing to draw on for guidance. There are probably many coaches watching him with a wry smile, thinking, ‘Finally, Pep is experiencing what we’ve all been through.'”

The pundit also addressed Guardiola’s recent two-year contract extension with City, joking about the manager’s potential regrets after the Juventus loss. When asked by host Kate Scott about Guardiola’s mindset, Carragher quipped, “He’s probably thinking, ‘Why did I sign that contract?'”

City’s defeat places them 22nd out of 36 teams in the Champions League standings, just one point ahead of Paris Saint-Germain, who sit in the first elimination spot.
