Surprise club joins the race to sign Marcus Rashford after receiving a ‘red alert’ from Manchester United.

Marcus Rashford has been linked with a potential move to a Saudi Arabian club after reportedly falling out of favor at Manchester United.

The 27-year-old forward was notably absent from United’s squad for their 2-1 victory over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday. When questioned about leaving Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho out of the 20-man squad, United manager Ruben Amorim explained the decision was based purely on “selection.”

“We evaluate everything – training, performance, engagement with teammates, and how players contribute overall,” Amorim said. “It’s a straightforward selection. There’s no message intended; it’s simply my evaluation. Players understand this.”

Amorim also emphasized the importance of details in his decisions, saying, “I consider everything – even how players prepare themselves for games. With so many players to choose from, these evaluations are crucial.”

Reports from The Telegraph last week suggested United were concerned about Rashford’s off-field lifestyle, hinting that his focus on football may have waned. Rashford, who has previously been linked with PSG, now finds himself on the radar of Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad.

According to talkSPORT, the club, managed by ex-United defender Laurent Blanc, has been alerted by Rashford’s omission from recent matches. The report claims United may be open to offers, although Rashford is reportedly hesitant to leave his boyhood club, as he aims to secure a spot in England’s squad for the 2026 World Cup. Nevertheless, senior figures at United believe a mutual parting could be beneficial.

Rashford, who signed a five-year contract extension in 2023, is tied to the club until 2028. Should he join Al-Ittihad, he would play alongside former Premier League stars like N’Golo Kanté, Fabinho, and Moussa Diaby, as well as ex-Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.
