Man City prepared to consider a ‘significant’ offer for Ederson, according to transfer expert.

Man City are reportedly open to considering a “big” offer for Ederson following his underwhelming performances this season. Former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains well-connected in football circles, told Football Insider that the club is evaluating every member of their squad as part of a potential “massive” overhaul ahead of upcoming transfer windows.

Selling Ederson would provide City with the opportunity to reinvest in a new goalkeeper, addressing concerns about his recent displays. The 31-year-old faced heavy criticism after the 2-1 loss in the Manchester Derby on December 15, with many calling for him to be benched. This sentiment was echoed when backup goalkeeper Stefan Ortega started matches against Liverpool, Nottingham Forest, and Crystal Palace, signaling that Ederson’s position as a first-choice option is no longer guaranteed.

According to Brown, City could capitalize on renewed interest from Saudi Arabian clubs at the end of the season. Speaking to Football Insider, he suggested that Ederson might be among those considered for a potential sale.

“City are assessing key areas of their squad and evaluating players who have underperformed this season. If they decide there’s an issue in goal, they’ll entertain a significant offer for Ederson, especially if Saudi interest persists,” Brown stated.

He also noted that while goalkeeper is one area under scrutiny, City may prioritize signing a right-back to replace Kyle Walker. “The team hasn’t been performing to their usual standards, and City are reviewing every position. Ederson’s recent mistakes might prompt them to conclude it’s time for a change. Goalkeepers are often seen as fixtures in a team, but if they’re not delivering, tough decisions have to be
