Man Utd reportedly ‘make move’ for £76m-rated Marcus Rashford replacement praised by Kylian Mbappe as a ‘complete’ player.

Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a highly-rated player as a potential replacement for Marcus Rashford, with a move possibly happening as early as January—and he already has Kylian Mbappe’s endorsement.

Rashford, 27, was left out of the matchday squad—along with Alejandro Garnacho—by United manager Ruben Amorim for their 2-1 victory against Manchester City at the Etihad on Sunday. Amorim explained the decision as being based on “selection.” Speaking to Sky Sports, he stated:
“We evaluate everything: training performance, match performances, engagement with teammates, and how they push their team. This was my decision, simple as that.”

Since his omission, Rashford has been linked with moves to several top European clubs and Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad. Speaking to journalist Henry Winter, the England international described being dropped as “disappointing” and hinted he may be “ready for a new challenge and next steps.”

If Rashford departs, United would need a replacement urgently, and one option could be Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani. According to French outlet Le 10 Sport, United expressed interest in the 26-year-old last month. Meanwhile, L’Équipe reported that PSG is open to letting Kolo Muani leave in January after he fell out of favor with manager Luis Enrique.

Kolo Muani joined PSG from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2023 for £76.4m but has struggled to meet expectations, managing only 11 goals in 54 appearances. Despite this, he received high praise from international teammate Mbappe, who highlighted his contribution during France’s 4-0 win over Holland in March 2023.
“He [Kolo Muani] is a striker who brings different options to our game,” Mbappe said. “He is very complete and has an impressive work rate.”

The French forward, contracted with PSG until 2028, is currently valued at around €30m (£24.7m) by Transfermarkt.
