Manchester United star will face a “trial period” under Ruben Amorim, with a major transfer “potentially” on the cards for next summer.

Marcus Rashford could reportedly be listed for sale in next summer’s transfer window if he doesn’t impress incoming Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim this season.

Amorim is set to officially take charge of the 20-time English champions next week, with his first match slated for the away game against Ipswich Town on November 24.

According to Football Insider, Rashford will be “under evaluation” for the remainder of the season, as Amorim wants to assess the forward closely before making a decision about his future.

The report suggests that the new head coach is expecting “significant improvement” from the England international, but if Rashford’s struggles continue, he could be sold next summer.

There has been considerable discussion about whether Rashford fits into Amorim’s tactical style, as the Portuguese coach uses a 3-4-3 formation at Sporting with two number 10 roles, which may suit players like Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho.

Potential Sale of Rashford by Man United Next Summer Rashford is currently United’s second-highest scorer this season with four goals, and he has also recorded three assists in 16 appearances, although his overall performance hasn’t matched the standard he set in 2022-23.

During the 2022-23 season, Rashford scored 30 goals and registered 11 assists in 56 appearances, leading to a lucrative long-term contract with the club.

However, last season was challenging for him, with only eight goals and six assists in 43 appearances, alongside some off-field issues over the past year.

PSG’s Interest in Rashford Last month, it was reported that PSG remains keen on Rashford, as they look for a replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who joined Real Madrid over the summer.

Previously, United valued their academy product at £100 million, though PSG would likely be unwilling to meet that figure for Rashford next year.

Rashford is also believed to have had a strained relationship with former United manager Erik ten Hag, despite ten Hag publicly defending him during criticisms.
