Gravenberch Highlighted as the Spurs Player Liverpool Saw as a Vulnerability

Liverpool secured their position at the top of the Premier League, moving four points clear of Chelsea, with a dominant 6-3 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon. Reds midfielder Ryan Gravenberch revealed they had identified one Spurs player as a key weakness.

Despite goals from James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, and Dominic Solanke for the hosts, Liverpool’s relentless attack, featuring braces from Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz, left Tottenham empty-handed at home.

Under scrutiny for his rigid tactics, Ange Postecoglou stuck to his approach but faced a tactical masterclass from Arne Slot, widely regarded as one of the best managers in the game. Spurs were further hampered by the absence of key defenders Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero, forcing Postecoglou to field a makeshift backline of Pedro Porro, Radu Dragusin, Archie Gray, and Djed Spence.

In an interview with LFCTV, as reported by talkSPORT, Gravenberch explained Liverpool’s strategy and singled out Dragusin as a vulnerability they intentionally targeted. The 22-year-old Romanian struggled throughout the match, winning just 33% of his duels and failing to complete a single tackle.

Having joined Spurs in January 2024, Dragusin has featured in 22 matches this season, but with the next transfer window approaching, his shaky performance could raise questions about his future at

the club.
