A Manchester United ‘source’ provides an update on Marcus Rashford’s future as the club seemingly offers a clue in its new calendar.
A source close to Manchester United has reportedly provided an important update on Marcus Rashford’s future amidst ongoing transfer speculation.
Rashford, 27, has been in the spotlight since Ruben Amorim’s decision to drop him for the Manchester derby earlier this month. Amorim notably excluded both Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho from the matchday squad, a move that paid off with a 2-1 victory.
Following his omission, Rashford made waves by hinting at his potential departure, stating he was “ready for a new challenge and the next steps.” Since then, he has been linked with several clubs, including those in the Saudi Pro League, MLS, and across Europe.
Despite these transfer rumours, Rashford is reportedly set to feature as the face of January in United’s 2025 calendar. According to The Sun, the club has chosen him as the player for that month.
A source informed the publication: “Rashford’s future at the club remains uncertain. He may not be here after the transfer window opens in just over a week. At least he’s the face of January — it’s likely he won’t be around much longer.”
Rashford has also been excluded from United’s squads for matches against Tottenham Hotspur and Bournemouth.
Ruben Amorim recently commented on Rashford’s situation, stating, “We are better with Marcus Rashford, that is simple, and we will try different things to push Marcus to the best levels he showed in the past. This kind of club needs big talent and he’s a big talent, so he just needs to perform at the highest level, and that is my focus. I just want to help Marcus.” He added, “Nothing has changed. We believe in Marcus. Marcus is a player of Manchester United, so there’s no change.”
Manchester United will return to Premier League action on Boxing Day, facing Wolverhampt
on Wanderers.
