Arsenal receives significant update on Leroy Sane transfer as new talks take place
Bayern Munich’s sporting director, Christoph Freund, has emphasized the club’s commitment to extending contracts for key players, including Leroy Sane, amid recent links between Sane and a potential move to Arsenal.
Arsenal has been building a squad with title-winning experience, aiming to challenge Manchester City’s dominance in the Premier League. Former City player Sane, now at Bayern, is one of the latest names connected to a move to the Emirates.
With Bayern currently in talks to extend Sane’s contract, which expires at the end of the season, Arsenal’s chances to attract him have strengthened, partly due to Sane’s reported interest in playing in London.
What remains uncertain is Arsenal’s transfer strategy for January and next summer under new leadership, following the departure of sporting director Edu. However, Bayern remains focused on retaining Sane and other key players, as Freund confirmed in a SportBILD interview.
Freund also dismissed speculation that he is eyeing Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz, indicating his full attention on Bayern’s current roster. If Sane decides to leave, Bayern may consider a January sale, but if not, Arsenal could negotiate a pre-contract agreement with him starting in the new year.
