Chelsea rumored to propose a ‘three-player plus cash’ deal for World Cup-winning star in an extraordinary swap offer.

Chelsea are reportedly preparing to offer a “three players plus cash” package in an ambitious January bid to sign World Cup winner Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan.

The Blues, who sat second in the Premier League standings on Christmas Day after an impressive start to the 2024/25 season, have seen key players like Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson combine for 21 goals. However, their 0-0 draw with Everton marked the first time Enzo Maresca’s team failed to score in a league match this season.

Maresca had a busy summer, prioritizing the departure of players outside his plans while also securing high-profile additions such as Joao Felix, Jadon Sancho (on loan with an obligation to buy), and Pedro Neto. Now, reports suggest Chelsea are eyeing a major transfer move in January, with Martinez as their primary target.

According to sources in Argentina (via Calciomercato), Chelsea are monitoring the 27-year-old striker, who has scored over 20 goals in each of the past three Serie A campaigns. However, Martinez has struggled this season, managing just five league goals and going a month without scoring, even losing his starting spot in September’s 0-0 draw against Manchester City.

Chelsea reportedly plan to offer a significant cash sum alongside Carney Chukwuemeka, Benoit Badiashile, and Mykhailo Mudryk as part of the deal. While Mudryk is currently serving a suspension for an adverse doping test result, he maintains his innocence, stating that he never knowingly consumed banned substances and is working with his team to investigate the matter.
