A family member of Real Madrid forward Endrick was tragically shot and killed in a horrific incident at a bar on Christmas Day.

A man fatally shot on Christmas Day has been identified as the “brother-in-law” of Real Madrid and Brazil forward Endrick, according to reports.

Mauricio Nunes Goncalves, 38, was killed in a street bar in Samambaia, near Brasília, after being shot multiple times. Reports suggest Goncalves was targeted, with witnesses stating he received several shots to the head while trying to flee. According to The Sun, there was no prior altercation between the gunman and the victim. No arrests have been made, but authorities are actively investigating the case.

Goncalves was reportedly the partner of Endrick’s older sister Lavinia Sudre’s brother, though in Brazil, he is being referred to as the footballer’s brother-in-law. Following the tragic incident on Wednesday morning, Sudre updated her Instagram profile picture to a black ribbon and shared a photo of Goncalves, writing: “You left beautiful memories in our hearts that we will never forget.”

The funeral took place on Thursday afternoon at 3 PM local time.

Endrick joined Real Madrid after turning 18 in July 2024, following an agreement reached in December 2022. He made his La Liga debut in August, scoring in a 3-0 win against Real Valladolid. However, competition from players like Vinicius Jr, Kylian Mbappé, and Rodrygo has limited his playing time under Carlo Ancelotti, sparking speculation about his future.
