Andy Robertson highlights the ‘incredible’ thing Arne Slot does ‘in every game’ at Liverpool, capturing the essence of his impact.
Andy Robertson has revealed how Arne Slot approaches every Liverpool game, emphasizing the manager’s tactical brilliance.
On Boxing Day, Liverpool came from behind to secure a 3-1 victory over Leicester City, extending their lead at the top of the Premier League to seven points. The Reds have now won 22 of their 27 matches under Slot, putting them on track for their first Premier League title since 2020 and only their second in over 30 years.
Following the Leicester win, Robertson praised Slot’s ability to make tactical adjustments for each game. Speaking to Premier League Productions, he said:
“He tweaks our role in every single game. Tactically, he is unbelievable! The manager demands more. I don’t think we are quite perfect in his eyes, and that’s what we want. You have to play differently week to week. We’ve done that all season, adapted well, and must keep doing it. You don’t win anything in December.”
Despite Liverpool’s strong position, Slot tempered title expectations, pointing to Manchester City’s struggles as a reminder of how quickly seasons can change. City have won just one of their last 12 games in all competitions, highlighted by a 1-1 draw with Everton.
Slot commented:
“When you’ve been in this game for a while, you know that 20 games before the end, you don’t look at the table like that. It’s far too early to celebrate, though it’s nice to be in this position.
“There haven’t been any easy wins for us. Even when we were in control, like against Tottenham, we conceded two late goals and it ended 5-3. Winning is always tough, and it becomes harder if injuries or suspensions come into play during the season.
“We must focus on one game at a time. While the table is encouraging, we are fully aware of how many matches remain t
o be played.”
