Liverpool might provide Arne Slot with the ‘perfect signing’ in January to strengthen their Premier League title ambitions.
Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a potential January signing that could bolster Arne Slot’s squad and boost their Premier League title challenge.
Slot, who replaced Jurgen Klopp in the summer, has guided the Reds to an impressive season so far. They currently lead the Premier League table by six points over Arsenal and top their UEFA Champions League group. With the January transfer window approaching, Football Insider suggests that Liverpool are closely monitoring Fulham’s Antonee Robinson as a possible addition to their squad.
Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown recently praised Robinson, describing him as a perfect fit for Liverpool. He highlighted Robinson’s similarities to Andy Robertson, particularly his attacking runs and overlapping play. Brown noted: “After his performance at Anfield, I’d expect Liverpool’s interest to have grown. There aren’t many quality left-backs available, and Robinson has proven himself as a top performer at the moment.”
Brown added: “He’s shown he can handle the role Robertson has excelled in, and Liverpool view him as an ideal successor in that position.”
Following Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Leicester City on Boxing Day, Slot emphasized the importance of staying focused in the competitive Premier League. Speaking about the title race, he said: “The league table is something we’re aware of, but there are still many games to play.”
Liverpool will aim to maintain their momentum when they face West Ham United at the London Stadium o
n Sunday.
