Arsenal reportedly made a €55 million offer, but more will be needed from the Gunners to secure the deal.

On October 22nd, Colombia’s AS reported that Arsenal and Barcelona had contacted Aston Villa to inquire about the requirements to sign Jhon Durán in the winter transfer window.

The striker has been a standout for Aston Villa this season, netting eight goals in 16 appearances across all competitions. Despite rejecting multiple offers for him over the summer, Villa extended Durán’s contract until 2030 last month. However, this hasn’t prevented Arsenal and other clubs from showing interest.

Colombian outlet Antena 2 recently provided an update on the 20-year-old, stating that several teams have approached him, and he has started receiving offers. Aston Villa, managed by Unai Emery, are reportedly unwilling to sell unless their valuation is met, with Arsenal’s bid serving as a case in point.

According to Antena 2, Aston Villa “recently rejected” a €55 million offer from Arsenal for the Colombian international.

While Transfermarkt currently values Durán at €35 million, they note that Aston Villa are asking for a much higher “crazy figure” of €85 million.
