Pep Guardiola plans a £120m triple transfer spree to overhaul Man City’s squad.

Pep Guardiola is reportedly planning a £120 million triple transfer for Manchester City during the January window, as per recent reports.

City ended their rough patch with a 2-1 win over Leicester City on December 29, thanks to goals from Savinho and Erling Haaland. This marked only their second Premier League victory in 10 matches. Now sitting sixth in the league and just four points behind Chelsea, City faces West Ham at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

Despite gradually recovering from injury woes, City’s ageing squad is expected to prompt significant activity in the transfer market. Reports suggest they have identified three key targets to rejuvenate their lineup.

According to Martin Blackburn of The Sun, City is prioritizing a midfielder and a forward. They are considering a double deal for Atalanta midfielder Ederson and Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush. Ederson, viewed as a suitable replacement for injured Ballon d’Or winner Rodri, has been instrumental for Atalanta, who currently lead Serie A. Meanwhile, Marmoush, with 18 goals in 24 games this season, has caught the attention of several clubs, including Arsenal and Liverpool. Both players are valued at approximately £50 million each.

Additionally, City is monitoring RC Lens defender Abdukodir Khusanov, with the Uzbekistan international priced at around £20 million. The move could be expedited due to persistent injuries in City’s backline.

While January transfers are rare for City—Aymeric Laporte’s 2018 signing being an exception—Guardiola acknowledged the possibility but emphasized caution. Speaking in a press conference, he said:

“I don’t know right now. It’s not easy. Maybe we’ll sign, or maybe we won’t. The club must be wise and not sign players just for the sake of it. If we do, it will be to address specific needs, especially considering the injuries we’ve faced. But I’m unsure if it will be

possible.”
