Fans express frustration over the performances of two Liverpool players against Man Utd and urge Arne Slot to take swift action.
Liverpool fans have urged Arne Slot to take decisive action following the underwhelming performances of two players during their 2-2 draw against Manchester United at Anfield.
The Reds extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table to seven points over Arsenal with the draw. However, frustrations mounted as Slot’s side initially went 1-0 down to Lisandro Martinez’s 52nd-minute strike. They turned the game around with Cody Gakpo’s long-range effort and Mohamed Salah’s penalty, but Amad Diallo equalized in a thrilling second half.
United nearly snatched a late winner when Harry Maguire’s effort inside the box went over the bar due to an awkward bounce.
Fans directed their criticism toward Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson. Alexander-Arnold was blamed for giving the ball away in the lead-up to Martinez’s goal and failing to close down Bruno Fernandes. He was substituted five minutes before full-time, with Conor Bradley taking his place.
Robertson faced backlash for his inability to block Amad’s equalizer inside the box.
One fan wrote: “No words for this Trent performance. Can’t believe he stayed on for the second half.”
Another added: “Trent Alexander-Arnold was absolutely abysmal today.”
A third commented: “Robertson and Trent cannot be our starters anymore.”
Others demanded changes, with one stating: “Robertson needs dropping,” and another saying, “Slot had to take Trent off after United scored
the first.”
