Three Liverpool players escape suspension as the details of Darwin Núñez’s ban are clarified.

Liverpool could be without Darwin Núñez for their next Premier League fixture, but three other players have avoided suspension following the introduction of the top-flight’s yellow card amnesty. Núñez will miss the trip to Nottingham Forest on Tuesday after picking up his fifth league booking of the season during the recent 2-2 draw with Manchester United at Anfield.

Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai have already served one-match suspensions earlier this season after accumulating five yellow cards. However, with Liverpool reaching the halfway point of their campaign, players are no longer subject to a ban for receiving five bookings.

Ibrahima Konaté, Cody Gakpo, and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all on four yellow cards following the game against United. While they have avoided immediate bans, they could still face suspension later under the updated totting-up rules: a two-game ban for 10 yellow cards after 32 games and a three-game suspension for 15 yellow cards at any time.
