A second club unexpectedly emerges to secure Trent Alexander-Arnold’s signature, and it’s troubling news for Liverpool.

Another club has joined the race to sign Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold as his contract nears its expiration this summer.

The most significant storyline under Arne Slot’s tenure as Liverpool manager has been the future of key defender Alexander-Arnold, whose contract is set to run out at the end of the season.

The defender has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, with reports suggesting that Alexander-Arnold has already decided to join the La Liga champions in the summer. However, now another European powerhouse is in the mix, and it’s not good news for Liverpool supporters.

German outlet Kicker reports that Bayern Munich is closely monitoring Alexander-Arnold’s situation and may pursue him if he becomes available this summer.

The 26-year-old is one of Bayern’s main targets if Joshua Kimmich leaves the club when his contract expires. However, Bayern is aware that if Alexander-Arnold does depart from Liverpool, Real Madrid is his most likely destination.

If Bayern Munich moves for the defender but loses out to Real Madrid, it could be the second blow to them from the Spanish giants, who are also rumored to be interested in Bayern’s Alphonso Davies.

Like Alexander-Arnold, Davies is set to be out of contract this summer and could leave Bayern for free if a new deal isn’t agreed. Several reports suggest that Real Madrid sees Davies as a backup option to replace current right-back Dani Carvajal, intending to target him only if they miss out on Alexander-Arnold.

Unlike Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah, whose contract is also expiring, Alexander-Arnold has kept quiet about his future. However, in a September interview with Sky Sports, he gave a brief update on his contract talks with the club.
