Liam Delap’s ‘friends’ disclose ‘imminent’ transfer update involving Manchester City.

Former Everton chief Keith Wyness has suggested that Manchester City could activate their buy-back clause for Liam Delap and potentially sell him for a significant profit.

Speaking on Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness, who served as Everton’s CEO from 2004 to 2009 and now advises elite clubs, believes the 21-year-old striker will be a target for many clubs in need of a forward. Football Insider previously reported in November that Man City are monitoring Delap’s progress at Ipswich Town following his departure from the Etihad during the summer transfer window.

Delap, who signed a five-year deal with Ipswich, has a buy-back clause included in his contract. This season, he has scored eight goals and provided two assists in 20 appearances across all competitions.

The England Under-21 international has attracted interest from Premier League clubs, including Chelsea and other top-flight sides.
