Liverpool have reportedly rejected a substantial offer for Darwin Nunez, with a bid from Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal in the region of £70 million, as the Premier League club continues to be linked with a move for highly-rated Greek forward Stefanos Tzimas.

Liverpool paid an initial £64 million to sign Nunez from Benfica in the summer of 2022, and at the time, his impressive record in Portugal made the transfer seem like a solid investment. However, after a standout 34-goal season at Benfica, Nunez struggled to adapt to the Premier League, acknowledging the increased difficulty and competitiveness of the league compared to Portugal.

Despite flashes of brilliance, like his memorable brace against Newcastle, Nunez has faced challenges in the Premier League. This season, he has scored only two goals in the competition, leading to speculation about his future at Anfield.

It is said that Liverpool turned down a verbal offer from Al Hilal, managed by former Benfica coach Jorge Jesus, who are looking to replace Neymar, rumored to be returning to Santos. Liverpool reportedly values Nunez at £75 million, with sporting director Michael Edwards overseeing negotiations to secure that fee.
