Arne Slot’s preferred player seals a deadline day transfer following a Liverpool hint.

Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez has secured a deadline day transfer to AC Milan, despite previously hinting at interest in reuniting with Arne Slot at Liverpool.

 

The 23-year-old has impressed with his goal-scoring form this season, netting seven goals in 11 Eredivisie appearances. Milan has now sealed the deal, reportedly paying Feyenoord over €35 million (£29m), with Gimenez keen on a move to Serie A.

 

His transfer comes weeks after he expressed openness to joining Liverpool, telling Fox Sports that he expects to cross paths with Slot again in the future. He emphasized the nature of football in reconnecting with familiar faces and acknowledged his ambition to play in a top European league like Spain, England, or Italy.
