Andy Robertson acknowledges that Liverpool have the resources to sign top players but remains determined to keep his place as the club’s first-choice left-back despite facing criticism this season.

Since joining Liverpool, Robertson has been a key figure in Jurgen Klopp’s side, but his performances this term have included some uncharacteristic mistakes, leading to scrutiny. Despite this, Liverpool have rarely needed reinforcements in the full-back positions due to the reliability of Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Reflecting on the criticism, Robertson insists he has developed a thick skin over the years and remains focused on performing at the highest level. He admitted that mistakes, such as his red card against Fulham, come with the territory but emphasized his desire to play every minute, even if the club signs a world-class competitor.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Robertson said: “I’ve been Liverpool’s starting left-back for eight years, which is something I’m really proud of at a club that can sign almost anyone. I still want to be that first-choice player. But criticism is part of football—if people want to target me now, so be it.”
