Three unattached players Arsenal could still sign to strengthen their attack after the transfer window shuts.

Arsenal still have the opportunity to strengthen their squad before the season ends, despite not making any signings during the winter transfer window.

While Premier League clubs can no longer complete permanent transfers or loans after the 11pm deadline on Monday—except in cases where a deal sheet was submitted between 9pm and 11pm—free agents remain available for signing. However, clubs can only register them if they have an open spot in their squad.

Arsenal submitted their 25-man squad to the Premier League in September, including Gabriel Jesus, who has been ruled out for the season after suffering an ACL injury against Manchester United last month. With Jesus likely to be unregistered for the second half of the season, Arsenal could have a vacant slot to bring in a new player.

Although David Ornstein has reported that Mikel Arteta prefers to wait until the summer rather than make short-term additions, injuries—particularly to Kai Havertz—could force Arsenal to reconsider their stance. If they need emergency reinforcements, these three free-agent forwards remain available:

Maxi Gómez: The former Valencia striker was once linked with Manchester United in 2020 after impressing in La Liga. However, after struggling at Trabzonspor and enduring a goalless loan spell at Cádiz, the 28-year-old is currently without a club. Despite his decline, his past goal-scoring ability could still make him an option.

Diego Costa: A move that would offer entertainment value more than anything else, Costa—who tormented Arsenal during his Chelsea days—is still active at 36 but is without a club after leaving Gremio. His recent spell at Wolves yielded just one goal in 23 matches, but if Arsenal need a physical presence up front, he could be a short-term option.

Mariano Díaz: Once a highly sought-after forward after scoring 18 goals for Lyon in 2017/18, Mariano was re-signed by Real Madrid but played only a limited role over five seasons. He joined Sevilla on a free transfer in 2023 but struggled for impact and is now a free agent. Though no longer a regular starter for top clubs, his past goal-scoring record could be

appealing.
