Liverpool complete transfer as £22m replacement for Andy Robertson ‘lined up.’

Liverpool finished the January transfer window without any new signings for Arne Slot’s squad. Despite links to players like Santiago Gimenez and Stefanos Tzimas, neither made the move to Anfield. However, Slot’s team is well-positioned for a strong season, currently leading the Premier League by six points with a game in hand over second-place Arsenal. They are also still competing in European and domestic cup competitions.

 

Young goalkeeper Fabian Mrozek has confirmed his departure after the transfer deadline. Having spent last season on loan at Swedish club IF Brommapojkarna, Mrozek has now joined National League side Forest Green Rovers. The 21-year-old, a Poland youth international who joined Liverpool’s academy in 2020, has yet to make his senior debut but was included in matchday squads for Europa League matches last season.

 

Meanwhile, reporter David Lynch has suggested that Liverpool are keeping an eye on Girona defender Miguel Gutierrez as a potential replacement for Andy Robertson. The 23-year-old, a product of Real Madrid’s academy, is valued at €27.6million (£22m). However, with Girona being part of the City Football Group, which also owns Manchester City, it’s uncertain whether they would be willing to do business with Liverpo
