Jude Bellingham reveals the most talented player in Real Madrid’s squad, excluding Vinicius Jr. and Kylian Mbappe.
After Real Madrid’s Champions League play-off victory over Manchester City, Jude Bellingham named who he believes is the most talented player in the squad—and it’s not Vinicius Jr. or Kylian Mbappé.
The 21-year-old midfielder played a key role in Madrid’s 3-1 (6-3 aggregate) win, securing their place in the round of 16. Despite sharing the pitch with some of the world’s top stars, Bellingham’s choice for the most naturally gifted player came as a surprise.
Speaking to CBS Sports Golazo, he singled out Rodrygo, calling him “so underrated.”
“For me, he’s probably the most talented and gifted player in the squad,” Bellingham said. “The things he can do with a football… We’ll be messing around, and he’ll flick the ball up in a way that makes you wonder, ‘How did he do that?’ I try, and I’m twisting my ankles!”
Beyond his technical ability, Bellingham praised Rodrygo’s versatility and work ethic. While the Brazilian prefers playing on the left, he frequently sacrifices for the team by playing on the right and contributing defensively—something Bellingham deeply admires.
Rodrygo, 24, has been a crucial part of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, registering 12 goals and nine assists in 34 appearances this season. He played a key role in Madrid’s win over City, assisting Kylian Mbappé’s goal with a brilliant setup.
Ancelotti also recently praised Rodrygo’s selflessness, calling him a “complete player” who always puts the team first. The Italian manager acknowledged that while Rodrygo prefers playing on the left, he has consistently adapted for the team’s success.
With both Bellingham and Ancelotti recognizing his importance, Rodrygo’s influence at Madrid continues to grow.
