Barcelona’s efforts to sign Alexander Isak have taken a positive turn, with reports from Spain suggesting that the Newcastle United striker is actively pushing for a move to Camp Nou this summer.

The 25-year-old’s future at St James’ Park remains uncertain, especially if Newcastle fail to secure Champions League qualification next season. According to El Nacional, Isak has already rejected approaches from both Arsenal and Liverpool as he prioritizes a dream switch to Barcelona, who are eager to secure his services.

However, completing the transfer will be challenging. Newcastle are reportedly demanding at least €180 million for the Swedish forward, a fee that could pose a significant obstacle for Barcelona given their well-documented financial struggles.

Despite these hurdles, club president Joan Laporta is reportedly “willing to do everything possible” to sign Isak, who is viewed as the ideal long-term successor to Robert Lewandowski.

Isak has been in sensational form this season, scoring 22 goals and providing five assists in 31 appearances. His performances have caught the attention of Liverpool, who are reportedly monitoring the situation and considering him as a potential replacement for Darwin Núñez. Following Isak’s standout display against Manchester United in December, Jamie Carragher even stated on Sky Sports:

Isak’s Stance on a Potential Newcastle Exit

Back in November, Isak was asked about speculation linking him with a move away from Newcastle. He responded:

When questioned about reports suggesting his representatives were growing frustrated over stalled contract talks, Isak dismissed the claims:
