Despite boasting one of Europe’s most technical and dynamic midfield trios in Ryan Gravenberch, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Alexis Mac Allister, there are concerns about squad depth—particularly in the No. 6 role. This could prompt Richard Hughes and Liverpool’s recruitment team to consider VfB Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller.

According to Christian Falk, Liverpool are monitoring the 23-year-old midfielder, who has a €36m release clause set to activate in 2026. However, given their financial strength, the Reds could move early to secure him this summer.

Stiller has drawn comparisons to Real Madrid legend Toni Kroos, with journalist Coralie Salle describing him as “the most underrated midfielder on the circuit” due to his exceptional passing range and vision. His recent call-up to the German national team has only reinforced these comparisons, with Julian Nagelsmann acknowledging his potential as a successor to Kroos.

With 126 senior appearances across Bayern Munich, Hoffenheim, and Stuttgart, Stiller is close to the experience level Liverpool typically look for. Whether he can handle the pressure of such high expectations remains to be seen.
