Arne Slot’s latest injury update raises concerns ahead of the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.

Liverpool crashed out of the Champions League after being knocked out by PSG and also had to contend with two players suffering injuries during the match.

Speaking about the fitness of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ibrahima Konaté, Arne Slot addressed the media post-game (via liverpoolfc.com), stating:

“I need to check, but from my perspective, Ibou was more fatigued than injured.

“With Trent, he had to come off, which is never a good sign. From what I’ve heard from those who saw the footage or witnessed how he got injured, it didn’t look promising.

“I would be surprised if he’s available for Sunday.”

This uncertainty over their availability is a significant concern ahead of the Carabao Cup final, particularly given Liverpool’s current issues at right-back.

However, despite their defensive setbacks, Liverpool’s backline was arguably their strongest unit against PSG. The real issue was in attack, where they struggled to make an impact.
