Arsenal supporters were far from impressed with Raheem Sterling’s performance against Everton, voicing their frustration after he was substituted at half-time during the 1-1 draw at Goodison Park.

Sterling, who started on the left wing, did register an assist for Leandro Trossard’s goal which gave Arsenal the lead. However, his overall contribution was limited—he completed just 10 passes, had no shots on target, and managed only three touches inside the opposition box.

With Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli still recovering from injury, Sterling was given a more prominent role by Mikel Arteta. But the Arsenal boss didn’t hesitate to withdraw him at the break, replacing him with Martinelli. While some viewed the substitution as harsh, many fans believed it was the right call.

Social media was filled with criticism of the Chelsea loanee. One fan tweeted, “Raheem Sterling. It’s time to go.” Another added, “Sterling is playing like it’s his debut—no awareness, no urgency, constantly giving the ball away.”
