Kevin De Bruyne says he’s open to the idea – the midfielder hasn’t ruled out a switch to a Premier League rival and admits playing for Liverpool is something he’d love.

Kevin De Bruyne’s expected exit from Manchester City has cast a shadow over the Etihad, as speculation intensifies around where the Belgian star might go next. Earlier this month, De Bruyne confirmed he will part ways with the club at the end of the season when his contract expires, concluding a stellar ten-year stint in Manchester.

Open to Premier League Options
In a development that surprised many, De Bruyne revealed he hasn’t closed the door on staying in the Premier League. Speaking candidly about his future, the 33-year-old suggested he’s open to offers that align with an ambitious and appealing footballing project. While he acknowledged he’s no longer at his physical peak, he remains confident in his ability to compete at the top level.

His comments have reignited speculation that other English clubs could move in for one of the Premier League’s most iconic midfielders. In a conversation with Jan Aage Fjortoft, De Bruyne said:

I know I’m not the youngest anymore, but I still feel capable of performing at the highest level. Right now, I don’t know which clubs are interested or what direction things will take. I just love the game, and if a good opportunity presents itself – and it suits my family too – we’ll make a decision.”

He added that his decision to leave City is still fresh, and nothing will be finalized immediately. Conversations with his family will play a key role in determining his next move.

De Bruyne’s impact at City has been nothing short of transformative. Since arriving in 2015 for a then club-record fee, he’s been the creative engine of Pep Guardiola’s team.
