Paul Joyce highlights 13 potential transfer targets on Arne Slot’s radar for the summer window.

Liverpool appear to be on the brink of a league title and an eventful summer, with Arne Slot preparing to make his mark on the squad.

In The Times, Paul Joyce shared his thoughts on what’s ahead: “Even with the title within reach, Arne Slot is eager to revamp the team and push them to new heights, with an extensive list of targets aimed at competing strongly on all fronts once again…

A host of names are already being linked, from forwards like Alexander Isak (Newcastle), Julián Álvarez (Atletico Madrid), Hugo Ekitike (Eintracht Frankfurt), and Antoine Semenyo (Bournemouth), to defenders and full-backs including Milos Kerkez, Dean Huijsen (both Bournemouth), and Jeremie Frimpong (Bayer Leverkusen). There’s also a long list of midfielders and versatile talents such as Nico Williams (Athletic Bilbao), Arda Güler (Real Madrid), Anthony Gordon (Newcastle), Rayan Cherki (Lyon), Jorrel Hato (Ajax), and Jarrad Branthwaite (Everton).”

The sheer number of players being assessed highlights just how busy this summer could be.

From Joyce’s report, a forward and a left-back seem to be the priority targets for now, with Alexander Isak and Milos Kerkez emerging as key contenders for those roles. Virgil van Dijk also appears confident that the club will invest heavily in the squad he has pledged his future to.

This flurry of speculation somewhat contradicts Arne Slot’s own comments ahead of the Leicester game, where he downplayed the likelihood of a major summer overhaul.

Whether that was a tactic to manage expectations or plans have shifted following new contracts for Mo Salah and the captain remains to be seen.
