Fernandes is optimistic that Amorim can reignite the excitement at Manchester United.

Bruno Fernandes is optimistic that Ruben Amorim can bring excitement back to Manchester United. Amorim is set to take over the club during the November international break after agreeing to a two-and-a-half-year contract. The 39-year-old arrives from Sporting Lisbon, where he won two league titles, including one that ended a 19-year drought for the club. Now, he faces the challenge of reviving the fortunes of the Red Devils.Having made 137 appearances for Sporting before moving to the Premier League, Fernandes has closely followed Amorim’s success in Lisbon. After the 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Sunday, he expressed his hope that Amorim could instill the same excitement at Old Trafford.“I’m a big fan of Sporting and watch a lot of their games,” Fernandes told BBC Sport. “Ruben Amorim brought excitement back to the club—things were a bit divided when he arrived. He transformed everything and united everyone.”Fernandes scored from the penalty spot in the match against Chelsea, but Moises Caicedo’s brilliant equalizer secured a point for Chelsea. Both teams underperformed, leaving Fernandes feeling disappointed in the dressing room.“There was a lot of disappointment after the game. We could have won,” Fernandes said of the Chelsea draw to BBC Sport. “We’ll take the point and be content with that, but we also need to feel disappointed because we’re quite far back in the league.”
