Mo Salah signed a new contract with Liverpool last week, and according to reports, Virgil van Dijk is also nearing an agreement to extend his stay at the club. Now, there’s more good news regarding contracts, as the Liverpool Echo (via Rousing The Kop) reports that Vitezslav Jaros is expected to sign a new deal.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper, who asked to leave Liverpool in the summer, is now poised to commit his future to the club after making his senior debut this season as a substitute in the Premier League. He impressed when stepping in for an injured Caoimhin Kelleher at Selhurst Park in October and later earned a start in the League Cup against Brighton.

Since arriving at Liverpool in 2017, Jaros has gone on loan to several clubs—including St. Pat’s, Notts County, Stockport, and Sturm Graz—to gain first-team experience. Most recently, he was on the bench for Liverpool’s 2-1 win over West Ham at Anfield on Sunday, and he’s now aiming for more first-team opportunities next season.

With Kelleher potentially leaving in the summer—Chelsea among those reportedly interested—and Giorgi Mamardashvili set to join the squad for pre-season after a loan spell at Valencia, Jaros could be in line for a more prominent role. Described as “brilliant” by Liverpool’s No. 62 during pre-season, the Czech international has shown promising signs in his limited appearances this campaign.
