Man City ace might move to Premier League rivals Liverpool due to his grandfather’s influence.

Kevin De Bruyne’s upcoming exit from Manchester City has stirred speculation about his next destination, with some suggesting a surprising switch to Liverpool. Although such a move may initially seem far-fetched, recent reports suggest it’s not entirely out of the question.

The Belgian midfielder, who has played a crucial role in City’s success—including six Premier League titles and a historic treble—has confirmed he will leave the club at the end of the season.

While there have been links to a move to Saudi Arabia, Belgian outlet De Standaard reports that De Bruyne prefers to stay in Europe to continue competing at the highest level. This opens the possibility of him joining another Premier League giant—namely, Liverpool.

Speaking to Viaplay, De Bruyne acknowledged that he hasn’t ruled out staying in England:
“It could be possible. It’s very difficult to say at the moment. The decision to leave City has only just been made. It’s only been a week, and I haven’t even seen my family again. We’ll see.”
