Report: Arne Slot is prepared to allow a Liverpool star to depart the club for only £38 million.

According to AS, Liverpool are reportedly ready to offload striker Darwin Nunez this summer, valuing him at £38 million.

Nunez has struggled with consistency since joining the Reds, and in the 2024–25 season, he recorded just seven goals and seven assists in 42 appearances, starting only eight times in the Premier League. His limited role and questions about his effort in certain games, particularly under new manager Arne Slot, have fueled speculation about his future.

Atlético Madrid have emerged as frontrunners for the Uruguayan’s signature, with manager Diego Simeone reportedly eager to bring him in as a replacement for Angel Correa.

Liverpool are open to a loan arrangement that includes an obligation to buy, as long as the buying club agrees to cover most of Nunez’s wages.

With the summer transfer window approaching, Nunez’s future remains uncertain. Although he has attracted interest from the Saudi Pro League, a move to Champions League regulars Atlético Madrid could be more appealing, allowing him to remain at the top level of European football.
