Initially, there were concerns he might face further disciplinary action for breaching IFAB rules that ban political, religious, or personal messages. However, according to the Daily Mail, the FA will instead issue a formal reminder to Gakpo about these guidelines without taking further action.
Thankfully, common sense seems to have prevailed. Punishing Gakpo more harshly would have been excessive and unnecessary. While regulations exist to prevent potentially divisive messages, this incident hardly warrants a major response.
