Report: Liverpool prepared to spend €60 million to sign “incredible” midfield star
Liverpool are reportedly prepared to make a bid of up to €60 million for highly-regarded Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller.
The 24-year-old has been gaining recognition as one of the most impressive midfielders in Europe outside of the continent’s top-tier clubs, and a major move appears to be on the horizon. Stiller has previously been linked with Liverpool, and a new report from Fichajes claims the Reds are now willing to invest heavily in him.
Although no formal offer has been made yet, the report indicates that Liverpool see Stiller as an ideal fit for incoming manager Arne Slot’s tactical setup. The club now faces a decision on whether to pursue their interest more concretely.
What’s been said about Angelo Stiller?
Stiller has earned high praise, with his coach Sebastian Hoeness telling Kicker: “He possesses outstanding strategic ability as a central midfielder. He reads the game well and can control play from the number six role. He has a cultured left foot and can effectively link up with more advanced players.”
UAdditionally, CaughtOffside columnist Christian Falk noted last year: “Stiller plays with a style that aligns well with Barcelona’s footballing philosophy.”
There’s little doubt that Stiller is a standout talent who will continue drawing attention.
Where would Stiller fit into Liverpool’s midfield?
Despite his talent, it’s debatable whether signing a midfielder like Stiller should be a top priority for Liverpool this summer. The club already boasts strong options in midfield, including Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch, and Dominik Szoboszlai—all of whom have performed well this season.
With Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott also offering depth, fitting Stiller into the squad may prove challenging unless there are notable departures to make room.
