Premier League standout Carragher, described as “very aggressive,” is expected to make a move to Liverpool.

Liverpool have identified Milos Kerkez as their top candidate to reinforce the left-back position, should they choose to strengthen that area, according to football journalist David Ornstein.

The Hungarian international has drawn attention from several major clubs with his standout displays, but Liverpool’s interest is reportedly the strongest ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

As the club gears up for the 2024/25 season under Arne Slot—who has exceeded expectations in his debut campaign—the focus has now shifted toward bolstering the squad.

Following their Premier League title triumph, Liverpool are planning reinforcements across multiple positions. Their consistent dominance throughout the season has put them in a strong position heading into the summer.

Speaking on the club’s transfer priorities, Ornstein explained:

“We’ve previously discussed the striker situation, and there are no major updates there. Left-back is now emerging as a key area of focus, with Kerkez looking the most probable option, though Liverpool are also exploring alternatives. What happens at left-back could influence their strategy at right-back, but with Bradley and Gomez available, that area isn’t as pressing.”

Kerkez, currently at Bournemouth, fits well with Slot’s tactical style at Anfield. He offers a balanced blend of attacking energy and defensive solidity.

Although Liverpool are reportedly preparing for Trent Alexander-Arnold’s potential departure, they feel confident about their right-back depth thanks to Bradley and Gomez. However, the left-back slot requires more competition for Andy Robertson.

Former Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher praised Kerkez’s impact in the Premier League, stating:

“Kerkez has been outstanding at Bournemouth. He’s quick, aggressive, and has that full-back presence—constantly surging up and down the left flank.”
